UAH COB welcomes Eminent Scholar Anthony P. D’Costa

A reception welcoming Dr. Anthony P. D’Costa, Eminent Scholar in Global Studies at the UAH College of Business will be held on Jan. 30.

A public reception to welcome Dr. Anthony P. D’Costa, Eminent Scholar in Global Studies and Professor of Economics at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

The event begins at 4 p.m. in the Student Services Building (SSB) room 112. In addition to the reception, D’Costa will give a brief talk highlighting his research at 4:30 p.m. Dr. Christine Curtis, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs will formally introduce D’Costa to the UAH community.

Professor D’Costa has written extensively on the political economy of steel, auto, and information technology industries covering themes of global capitalism, economic development, innovations, inequality, and international mobility of talent.

For nearly 30 years, D’Costa taught at The University of Melbourne, Copenhagen Business School where he held the A.P. Moller-Maersk Professor of Indian Studies, The University of Washington, and The National University of Singapore.

The recipient of several fellowships, D’Costa has contributed to research efforts of multilateral organizations, and served on numerous academic and professional committees. D’Costa has written a dozen books, his most recent Changing Contexts and Shifting Roles of the Indian State (co-edited) is forthcoming.
