All projects are subject to the approval of The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees. 2017: Acquisition 58-acres of contiguous land known as Executive Plaza was purchased under Dr. Altenkirch. The land sits immediately adjacent to UAH’s campus and was identified as a strategic expansion opportunity for the University. 2019: Planning Perkins&Will was engaged by the University to explore the AOP with the Executive Plaza site and create a unique college-town experience for UAH. 2021: Demolition UAH partnered with the City of Huntsville to demolish the remaining existing structures to make way for new development. 2023: Due Diligence Rieth Jones Advisors and PFM Financial Advisors were engaged by the University to complete due diligence through market sounding, a market and demand study, and financial feasibility analysis. 2024: Procurement The University conducted a public procurement for a Master Developer, which included both a Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") and Request for Proposals ("RFP"). Early 2025: Partner Selection The selected partner is expected to be announced following UAS Board Approval in early 2025.
