Overview

UAH acquired 58 contiguous acres on the University Drive and Holmes corridors to develop a walkable college-town experience unified around UAH’s identity as a science and industry pioneer. The University is currently procuring a master developer to develop the site.

The development is situated on the northwest portion of campus, along the University Drive and Holmes corridors, on the site currently known as Executive Plaza. The site is located in Cummings Research Park, two miles from Redstone Arsenal, and less than three miles from downtown Huntsville.

This project will be comprised of a multi-phased project with the possibility to develop a combination of student housing, retail, office, institutional / research space, hotel & conference center and other amenities.

UAH launched a Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") on July 10, 2024 as part of their public procurement process in compliance with the University of Alabama System guidelines. The RFQ closed on August 16, 2024, and shortlisted firms were identified in September 2024 and asked to respond to a Request for Proposals ("RFP"). After RFP responses are received, UAH will select a preferred Master Developer partner in early 2025.

The University is initiating the procurement process in July 2024 to identify a master developer. Groundbreaking could occur as early as late-2025.
