College of Science JUMP

The Joint Undergraduate and Master's Program (JUMP) is an excellent opportunity to obtain an undergraduate and graduate degree in a shorter time frame. Typically it takes four years for an undergraduate degree and two years for a graduate degree.

 

With the JUMP program, students planning on getting a master's degree can get started while finishing a bachelor's degree. It's a great bargain since, as an undergraduate, you'll take graduate-level courses (and get graduate-level credit) but pay undergraduate class prices. Plus, there is no entrance exam like the GRE, no application fee, and you get to double-count your classes (for BS and MS).

Graduate JUMP Programs

M.S. Atmospheric Science

JUMP Advisor: Dr. Larry Carey

Minimum GPA Requirement: 3.75

Courses to Take Before JUMPing:
ESS 301, PH 112/115, MA 238, & (CS 102 or 103 or 104).

JUMP Courses Commonly Taken:
AES 509, 510, 520, 541, 551, 554, 561, 571, 572 in place of their undergraduate versions.

M.S. Earth System Science

Minimum GPA Requirement: 3.75

M.S. Biological Sciences

CS 317 is required. CS 321 is strongly recommended.
