Transfer, Second Degree & Non-Traditional Students

Our Orientation Program is designed just for students like you. We'll provide you with the information you need to make a smooth and successful transition to UAH. All new, degree-seeking students are required to attend an Orientation.

At Orientation you will:

  • Meet with your academic advisor to discuss transfer credit and academic expectations and register for classes
  • Arrange for on-campus housing (if needed)
  • Get your Charger Card (Student ID)
  • Discover tools to enable your academic success at UAH
  • Complete needed immunization forms with our Student Health Center
  • Explore opportunities to get involved on-campus
  • Learn about the campus and traditions
  • Meet and socialize with current and new students
  • Learn more about Veterans benefits (if applicable)

STEP 1: DECIDE YOUR ORIENTATION EXPERIENCE

All new, degree-seeking are required to attend an Orientation session. Transfer, second-bachelor's, and non-traditional students have the option of completing an Online Orientation or attending Transfer Orientation on campus on Monday, August 7th

STEP 2: MEET WITH YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR

Transfer students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor to discuss transfer credit and class selection prior to attending Orientation.

STEP 3: REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION*

Students and guests can register for Orientation below. 

To register you will need your Student Identification Number on your acceptance letter (begins with "A".) Need help locating it? Please call the Office of Admissions at 256.824.2773.

When registering for Orientation, please verify your major. To change your major/program of study, please email orientation@uah.edu.

STEP 4: PREPARE FOR YOUR ORIENTATION SESSION

Once you have registered for Orientation, review and complete the Charger Checklist.
