  • Review our Academic Placement Guidelines

Academic Placement for new students is based on standardized test results, AP scores, and previous college credit. Students who wish for their placement to be re-evaluated may do so by submitting updated test results or through placement testing at UAH. Please note that students are required to have their mathematics placement level determined before enrolling in their first mathematics course at UAH. This process is intended to place students in the appropriate course to ensure the best possible opportunity for success. Mathematics placement levels are determined by AP calculus test scores, ACT/SAT scores in mathematics, previous college credit (precalculus or higher), or the math placement exam.

Students who wish for their placement to be determined by a placement exam must complete the exam prior to attending Orientation. If you live near the University, you may sign up for placement testing on the Testing Services website. You can also take the MyMathTest placement test online. For more information about MyMathTest, visit the Math Placement page.
  • Send your official AP/IB scores to UAH through The College Board (if applicable). The UAH AP CODE is 1854.
