The National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is an independent credentialing organization that has tested healthcare professionals and instructors throughout the United States since 1989. NCCT provides multiple qualifying paths for certification in the following roles:

Medical Assistants
Medical Office Assistants
Insurance & Coding Specialists
CG Technicians
Phlebotomy Technicians
Patient Care Technicians
Postsecondary Instructors
Surgical Technologists

  • Exams are proctored by UAH Testing and Certification Services.
  • Exam may be computer-delivered or paper and pencil.
Test Dates and Registration
  • The University of Alabama in Huntsville offers the
    following NCCT exam times:
    • Friday, October 21, 2016 at 9:00am
    • Friday, October 28, 2016 at 9:00am
    • Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 9:00am
    • Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 9:00am
    • Friday, December 16, 2016 at 9:00am
  • There are two fees associated with the NCCT exam:
  • To register and pay your NCCT exam fee, visit the NCCT website.
  • To schedule an appointment and pay your UAH administration fee ($35), you must first register with NCCT then REGISTER ONLINE or phone 256.824.6010 to register with UAH Testing and Certification Services. Your administration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
