Bachelor of Arts in Sociology

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology can choose either a classic sociology major or a sociology major with a specialty track in community services, global structures, environmental social science, or law and justice.

The classic sociology major is designed for students who have a general interest in the field of sociology and who want to choose from a wider variety of sociology courses. It is also a good choice for students considering graduate school in sociology or a related discipline, and those nearing the end of their programs who need to complete their degree quickly. The sociology major with a specialty track is designed for students who want to focus their studies an area of particular interest. 

 

The classic sociology major requires 34 credits distributed in the following manner:
