HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (September 28, 2012) — The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will hold its annual Business MatchMaker event on Thursday, October 18 at the Jackson Center in Huntsville. The keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Gary Heard, Small Business Administration Procurement Center Representative.
The MatchMaker event begins at 7:15 a.m., with registration and breakfast, followed by an 8 a.m., address by Foster Perry. At 8:05 a.m., Raymond Hembree will speak on the topic "What's New with the SBA." Hembree is Alabama deputy district director of the Small Business Administration. Gary Heard will discuss “Teaming” at 8:10 a.m., and at 8:25 a.m., Mary Jane Fleming, procurement specialist, will discuss and give updates on the new SAM system.
At 8:30 a.m., one-on-one sessions will begin for small business owners attending the session. Business owners will discuss potential contracting opportunities with participating contractors and federal agencies. Businesses are scheduled individual 12-minute increment sessions to present their capabilities.
The cost for the MatchMaker session is $100 per person and includes a continental breakfast buffet and snacks during session breaks.
