UAHuntsville to host AIDT entertainment, media production, and crew training event

empactHuntsville, Ala. (February 27, 2012) —Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) representatives from EMPACT, the state’s workforce resource program will be at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville) on Monday, March 5, showcasing the new film and television training program.

The UAHuntsville community will have the opportunity to tour the 48-foot, fully equipped EMPACT (Entertainment Media Production & Crew Training) trailer from 8 a.m., through noon University Center parking lot), to find out how the unique program is building Alabama’s entertainment industry and crew base. The trailer houses industry-standard equipment associated with the entertainment and film industry.

EMPACT teaches the basic fundamentals of set construction, set lighting, and general production techniques. The training program is a free, hands-on training program for Alabamians who want to learn the skills needed to become a working crewmember on the set of a film or television show.
