New York screenwriter, film producer to lecture at UAHuntsville

silber         Huntsville, Ala. (February 22, 2012) — Christoph Silber, a New York based screenwriter and film producer will lecture next month on the campus of The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville).

         Silber will give a UAHuntsville Honors Forum presentation on Tuesday, March 6, at 11:10 a.m., in Frank Franz Hall Multipurpose room 138. The talk is free and open to the public. Frank Franz Hall is located directly across the street from Morton Hall.

         Silber was one of Germany’s leading screenwriters before marrying a New York native and relocating to the United States in 2007. Silber partnered with Stefan Schaefer in 2009, and founded Silver Shepherd Films. 

         The studio’s 2010 film My Last Day Without You starring Nicole Beharie and Ken Duken was the 2011 recipient of the Brooklyn Film Festival’s best producer award. Additionally, the movie was honored with the 2012 Black Reel Awards for best independent film and best original song, My Last Day Without You.

One of Silber’s current television movie productions includes the highly popular The Miracle of Carinthia; a truth based medical thriller airing on German television March 5. The production has been nominated for the 2011 Producing Prize for Germany’s Hamburg Film Festival.
