At UAH we know our students and provide the individual attention essential for emerging artists to succeed.
Our studio faculty are active working artists with expertise in a wide range of techniques and media. We are able to provide ample studio space, and after-hours access to studios and equipment. Our students utilize the facilities and value the chance to form a close, supportive community.
Students and faculty are active parts of the Arts Council, Flying Monkey Arts Center and other local venues.
In addition to short trips to Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta and other cities in the region, Students travel to New York and Chicago, attend the Southern Graphics Council Conference, Frogman's Print and Paper Workshop, and the Yale Norfolk Program. UAH offers opportunity for travel through our global studies program; our students have taken courses in London and the English countryside, Paris and Rome. The department also offers an opportunity for study in Italy through an affiliation with the UGA Cortona Study Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy.
