Applying for admission to UAH's Graduate School is easy. On this page, we'll walk you through the admission process and application requirements. If you have any questions along the way, we’re here to help!

Create Your Charger Status Account

Charger Status will help you navigate the UAH Graduate Admissions process. Through your Charger Status account, you can:

  • Apply for graduate admission
  • Track the status of your application
  • Upload admissions supplemental items for review
  • View your admissions decision

If you are a current UAH undergraduate student, it is likely that you already have a Charger Status account. You may access your account by logging in with the same credentials you used to submit your undergraduate application for admission. Your login email will be a personal email address, not your official UAH email address. If you do not remember your previous log-in credentials, please click the "forgot password" link or contact Graduate Admissions.

Admission Requirements

After creating your Charger Status account, you will be directed to the application for admission. Complete the application, and pay the nonrefundable $60 application fee. Current UAH students and UAH alumni may be eligible to receive an application fee discount. Please contact our office for verification to receive the discount code.

A strong candidate for admission to the UAH Graduate School typically meets the following standards:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, from an approved institution
  • A minimum grade point average of a 3.0 on the undergraduate record

Which programs require test scores for admission?

View our Test Score Requirements page to see if your program requires a GRE, MAT or GMAT score for admissions consideration.

Please note, department standards may be higher, so these minimum requirements do not guarantee admission to the UAH Graduate School. Program committees will not consider your application until all documents are received. For more information regarding specific admissions requirements to your program of interest, contact your program coordinator

Number of Applications

Students may submit an application for admission to one graduate program at a time. To apply to a second program within the same term, please submit a new application for admission.

When to Apply

Priority admittance will be given to individuals who apply by the dates listed. Applications received after these dates will still be evaluated, but an admission decision for your semester of choice is not guaranteed. Transcripts

You are required to submit official transcripts from previously attended colleges from which a bachelor's degree or higher was obtained and any college attended after obtaining your bachelor's degree, including both undergraduate and graduate coursework. If any of your transcripts include transfer work, grades and credits must be included on the transcript. Otherwise, we will require additional transcripts that show your transfer credits and grades. Send your official transcripts to UAH Graduate Admissions through an electronic delivery service. UAH Graduate Admissions accepts official transcripts from Parchment and Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts from UAH do not need to be submitted.

If your school does not have access to these services, request that they send your official hard-copy transcripts to:

Test Scores

If your program requires a test score for admissions consideration, have your official test scores sent directly to UAH Graduate Admissions by the testing agency. View our Test Score Requirements page to see if your academic program requires a test score for admissions consideration.

Other Application Materials

Depending on your academic program, you may be required to submit additional documentation for admissions consideration, such as a resume, personal statement, professional license, and/or letter of recommendation. You can view these requirements and upload them within your Charger Status account. On your My Account page, click on your application, and then, click on "Supplemental Items & Documents."

Transfer Credits

If you've completed graduate courses at another academic institution, it's possible that you may apply those courses toward the requirements of UAH's graduate degree programs. The graduate courses you've previously completed must have been taken at an appropriately accredited academic institution or at an academic institution with high academic standards and deemed acceptable by the department of your academic program.

The maximum credits transferable are 12 hours (or fewer in selected programs). Minimum GPA and course completion time limits are applicable. An official transcript indicating completion of the coursework must be submitted.  Please contact your program coordinator for more information regarding your graduate transfer credit eligibility.
