What High School did you graduate from?
Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, TN

What University did you graduate from?
The University of Memphis with a B.S.Ed. in Integrative Studies (K-8 Focus) and Middle Tennessee State University with a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Supervision.

Why did you enter the admissions field?
As a first generation college student I remember how important the people who helped me through the process of applying and entering college were to me. It is my hope that I can provide the same type of support and counseling that I received to other students and families who need it. After spending 9 years in non-profit organizations and the last 8 in higher education, it has been a pleasure getting to meet students and families all over the country and help them during the next steps in their journey.

What is the best advice you can give to a high school student?
Visit and speak to as many admissions counselors as you can! Sometimes students write off a university down the street because they think they know everything there is to know about it, but you'll often find out that there is a lot more going on than they ever realized. There may be a school that you have never heard of that is a perfect fit for you, or the school you have your heart set on won't meet your goals. You never know until you speak to the university and take a visit to make sure.

What is your favorite thing about UAHuntsville?
My favorite thing about UAHuntsville is how much there is to do. It seems like there is always some event or activity going on. As a sports nut I love great college athletics. From our nationally ranked basketball and softball teams to our tennis and track and field teams to the only Division I ice hockey team in the south, there is always a chance to catch great athletics at UAHuntsville.
