What made you want to be an Admissions Counselor?
I have a passion for higher education and believe everyone should be offered the opportunity for higher education. Building relationships with prospective students and their families is what drove me to want to be an Admissions Counselor. I want to help students realize their potential beyond grade school and aid them in choosing a college that fits them well. I also want to help parents feel just as confident as their student in choosing the right college.
What are your hobbies?
Cooking, Reading, Exercising, Spending time with family and friends
What do I think is the most important factor for any incoming student?
Meeting new people and building connections early on campus is important. It is a good idea to introduce yourself to your college’s Dean and other university administration. Also, take advantage of your professor’s office hours. Visit them to talk about things that interest you in their class or just stop by to chat with them. They will appreciate it and will even aid you in finding internships and jobs as upperclassmen. Beyond the classroom, make sure to take part in student life activities. Attend a concert on campus or join an organization that will provide you with leadership experience. Your college experience is what you make of it. Study hard, play hard! But make sure you study first!
