Inspired Women! The UAHuntsville Ruth Hindman Women's Studies Art Contest

Students in grades 10-12 are invited to enter an art contest held in conjunction with UAHuntsville Liberal Arts Tournament Day in April of each year. The prize is a $100 award for a work of art honoring a contemporary or historical woman, or that deals with the experiences of girls or women. In addition to submitting the artwork at Tournament Day, entrants for this prize must provide a brief written artist's statement (250-500 words) about why they chose their subject and how it relates to an inspiring woman, or to the experiences of girls or women. The entry will be judged on both content and artistic merit. The judges will be looking for a truly outstanding work of art. Works by all students, male and female, will be considered for this award. For more information, contact the Department of Art and Art History at 256-824-6114.
