The Disability Support Services (DSS) office of the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) provides services designed to support and encourage students with disabilities in the university community. The DSS office assists in creating an accessible university community where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of the educational environment. The DSS office is committed to working with students, faculty, and staff in developing and implementing reasonable accommodations and appropriate strategies for a successful learning experience, while maintaining the academic standards and integrity of the University.
The DSS office at UAH provides academic accommodations for students with disabilities. To register for services please follow our registration procedures. Accommodations provide students an equal opportunity to succeed at UAH. Accommodations also provide equal access to facilities and academic information.
The DSS office follows the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA, 2008) and the Association for Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD) and fully supports providing access to all students with documented disabilities. However, academic success is solely the responsibility of the student.
