Day 3: London (Thursday)

Morning. guided tour of London sites, including tour of
St. Paul’s Cathedral.
St. Paul's marks one border of the medieval City of London.  The first cathedral on this site burned in 675 A.D. Today's cathedral was designed by Christopher Wren and first opened for services in 1697.
Afternoon: British Museum (Bloomsbury) Located on Great Russell St. in the heart of Bloomsbury, the British Museum holds fabulous collections of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian antiquities, including the Rosetta Stone.  Until recently the British Library was housed there, and the narrator of A Room of One's Own goes there to look up the status of women in English history.  (The British Museum gift shop is one of the best in the world, too!)

Evening: free. We’ll look into theatre tickets before we go.

Sites for checking out what's on in London and buying tickets.
