Written by: UAH April 6, 2021 The Alabama Department of Public Health has announced that all individuals aged 16 or older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning April 5. The University of Alabama in Huntsville intends to offer vaccines to all students as supply becomes available. Students will receive an email when they become eligible to schedule a vaccine appointment through the University's vaccine program. Most vaccines, including those offered through UAH, require two doses provided 21 or 28 days apart. Both doses should be provided by the same facility. Those who will not be in Huntsville after April 30 should consider registering in their expected locale. Please note that the University has a limited supply of vaccines. For other sources of the COVID-19 vaccine, please seek an appointment through the following resources: ALCovidVaccine.gov to make appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at county health departments. Visit ADPH's Mass Vaccination Clinics page or search for clinics near you using the Vaccine Clinic Dashboard or COVID-19 Table. You can receive a COVID-19 vaccine through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program at select CVS, Sam's Club, and Walmart locations across the state.
