A message from the president of UAH.

Dear UAH Community,

Now that the new semester has begun, I’d like to once again welcome everyone back. I have enjoyed seeing students, faculty and staff all across the campus as we look forward to a productive and successful fall term together.

I would like to say how proud I am to see how the Charger community is actively following the UAH Return to Campus Guidelines. You have been doing a great job meeting our health and safety expectations, whether through COVID-19 training and testing or following the guidelines for social distancing, face coverings and the safety protocols within our buildings and facilities

I want to take this chance to remind you that all employees and students returning to campus are encouraged to complete Charger Healthcheck daily, but that it is a requirement to complete it every three days.

You are also encouraged to download the GuideSafe COVID-19 Exposure Notification App. The use of this app is voluntary, but we strongly recommend it, as this tool allows you to anonymously share a positive COVID-19 test result — and be anonymously notified of potential previous close contact with someone who later reports a positive COVID-19 test result — without sharing anyone’s identity. The app protects your privacy while giving you the power to protect the health of yourself, your family, and your community.

This app helps stop COVID. Download GuideSafe today via Apple AppStore or GooglePlay.

Lastly, the UA System has developed a COVID-19 Dashboard that provides System-wide COVID-19 information to the public. This content will be broken down by campus, as well as offer an aggregate System total. This data includes the number of known positive cases of students, faculty and staff on- and off-campus, as well as the results for student entry testing and the occupancy percent rate related to the isolation space for COVID-19 positive students and/or close contact students. Sentinel testing data will be available in the coming weeks.

Thank you for all you are doing to ensure the health and safety of our entire campus.

Charge on!
