Assistant Professor Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Phone: 256.824.5083Email: email@example.com Dr. Xu joined the faculty of the UAH Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in August of 2012. Dr. Xu developed and executed plasma-related measurements while an MS and Ph.D. student in the High-Power Electric Propulsion Laboratory in the Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Aerospace Engineering. His doctoral thesis work under Dr. Mitchell Walker focused on plasma behavior and the control of potential fields in a Hall Effect thruster. He has experience designing, constructing, and operating plasma-related diagnostic facilities. His work at UAH involves studying new applications of plasma physics. His lab focuses on using plasma to enable new technologies and studying the basic underlying physics.
