Health Careers Day 2019: November 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th

AED/Medical Careers Club and Pre-Professional Advising hope that you will join us for our annual Health Careers Day on November 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th, 2019. This event brings in around 300 college and high school students each year to learn and interact with different Health Profession representatives.

**This year the event will run differently than it has in the past due to the event expanding to 5 days so please be sure to read through all of the details below.

Overview

With the support of Pre-Professional Advising, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) hosts an annual Health Careers Day. Health Careers Day (HCD) is a growing event that has been conducted for nine years. Health Careers Day is organized for students interested in healthcare fields such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, chiropractic, public health, and more.

During the event, students hear from a variety of medical professionals about their work and what it is like working in healthcare. Students have the opportunity to attend sessions featuring different topics such as the importance of professional social media to how to make household tourniquets. AED also offers raffles and giveaways throughout the day for those in attendance. In addition to the lectures and demonstrations, there is a fair with health profession schools and program representatives, military branch representatives, different safety departments and health professionals from the city. The fair is organized to help students connect with potential schools and admissions counselors that could offer advice on what is to be expected when applying and once accepted.
