  • 4/11: The Reburial of Jefferson Davis and the Culture of Funerals – Dr. Paul Beezley

Death, as a rule, ends someone’s political career—but not for Jefferson Davis, who continued as a rallying figure of Southern Nationalism. Learn how New South elite used support of a dead hero to bolster their political, economic, and social hold over the South—evidence that politics can bring the dead to life!

  • 4/18: East Jerusalem – Jennifer Humiston

Part of an international volunteer team, Humiston spent three months in Jerusalem. Learn what she saw, heard, felt, and accomplished while monitoring checkpoints, visiting surrounding Bedouin communities, and meeting with regional NGOs.

  • 4/25: Scientist to Artist – Grace Wever

No stranger to experimentation, Grace Wever is exploring a new phase of life—as an artist. As a former bio-scientist, Wever had a professional life focused on molecular and cell biology In retirement, she now spends her days creating cut fabric and art paper collages—artwork exhibited around the nation. See her beautiful artwork and hear her story.
