The Office of Sponsored Programs regularly offers training for new and existing UAH researchers.

Fundamentals of Proposal Preparation

Participants will gain a better understanding of the multi-faceted process that requires coordination between the PI, funding agencies, and the institutional staff and infrastructure that makes it all come together. This course demonstrates how to build a project budget according to the federal, state and institutional regulations that govern sponsored funding.

Managing Grants.gov Workspace & NIH ASSIST

Managing Grants.gov Workspace: This course demonstrates how to use the Grants.gov Workspace portal to initiate and prepare a proposal. Workspace is designed to work for individual applicants and large teams applying on behalf of an organization, so there are a variety of features for you to utilize.
Managing NIH ASSIST: This course demonstrates how to use the NIH ASSIST system to initiate and prepare a proposal. This session gives participants an overview of the process including requirements for using ASSIST, how to initiate and prepare a proposal, how to add optional forms, how to preview an application, and how to validate an application.

Managing NSF Fastlane & Research.gov

This course demonstrates how to use the NSF Fastlane and Research.gov systems to initiate and prepare a proposal. Both management systems cover the full range of transactions between a research organization, its researchers, and NSF.
