Nursing JUMP Programs

The Joint Undergraduate and Master's Program (JUMP) is an excellent opportunity to obtain both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in a shortened time frame at reduced cost. Students planning to obtain a master's degree (MSN) can get a “JUMP” start while completing their bachelor's degree (BSN). The JUMP Program is a great value because students take graduate-level courses as an undergraduate (and earn graduate-level credit) but pay undergraduate rates. Additionally, there is no entrance exam, no application fee, and some BSN hours are counted twice towards MSN hours. Students are also allowed to use merit tuition scholarships in this program.

The College of Nursing offers 3 RN-BSN to MSN JUMP tracks: Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, and Nursing Administration. Sample plans of full-time study for each track are found below.

Progression and Graduation Standards

1. All co-requisite courses must be completed prior to admission into the JUMP program.
2. A minimum grade of "C" or above must be earned in all required nursing courses and all co-requisite courses. UAH College of Nursing adheres to the following grade scale:
   • A: 90 or higher
   • B: 80-89
   • C: 75-79
   • D: 60-74
   • F: less than 60
3. An overall "C" (2.0) grade point average (GPA) is required for graduation.
4. A student who receives two or more grades below "C" in required nursing courses, in either the same course or in separate courses, at any time during the program will be dismissed from the College of Nursing. Students have the option to petition for readmission following the guidelines published in the BSN Student Handbook
