What is Latin American Studies? Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary program that includes Spanish language study and coursework examining the history, culture, politics, and literature of Latin Americans and U.S. Hispanics. The program’s interdisciplinary nature allows students to learn about Latin America’s diverse cultures and history, including the countries of North, Central, and South America as well as the Caribbean. Students also have study abroad and internship opportunities. Pura Vida July 7 ¡Pura Vida! In 2015, eleven UAH students spent four weeks in a study abroad program in Costa Rica.
