As our nation struggles in the fight against COVID-19, Guardian Systems, Prudent American Technologies, Inc. and Mount Sinai Health are joining together and leading the way in finding innovative solutions.

The Invention to Innovation Center (I2C) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) today announced that Guardian Systems, a member of the I2C community, recently had the privilege of connecting an immediate need in New York City with a manufacturing partner with facilities in Alabama and Kentucky.

Working together with Prudent American Technologies, Inc., Guardian aided in the development and manufacturing of a medical-grade component to support NYC's Mount Sinai Health System. Visit https://youtu.be/X7kMStXQqqw to review the progress of this effort.

“We were connected to Mount Sinai in NYC through a relationship that was strengthened by being in Huntsville at the I2C,” said Wil Busby, CEO of Guardian Systems. We immediately knew that our partner, Prudent American Technologies, Inc., not only had the ability- but the heart- to make this happen.”

“The COVID-19 outbreak has challenged every level of our company and allowed our team to further apply our capabilities within the medical space,” said Mike Necessary, CEO of Prudent American Technologies, Inc. “Our relationship with Guardian Systems engaged our rapid response engineering know how to create a medical grade valve solution that ultimately supported our customer to convert breathing machines to life-saving ventilators. The project is directed by a team at the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.”

“We’re extremely excited to support Guardian in their growth. It is indeed exciting to see that the collaboration between these companies will facilitate the much-needed medical resources that are urgently needed during the current COVID-19 crisis,” said Rigved Joshi, Director of I2C.
