Spring 2021 All residence halls close on Thursday, May 6th, at 6 p.m. CDT. We recommend all residents check out within 24 hours of their last exam unless you will be attending graduation on May 5th. For checkout, you will go to the front desk of your residence hall during the approved checked out time and turn your room and mail key into a Resident Assistant or Resident Director. The Resident Assistant will check the condition of your space once all residents of that suite have moved out. The Resident Director will asses charges to any damage or cleanliness issues based on any differences found in the Room Condition Form. The UAH Housing Office will send an email about any move-out charges, and they will be added to your student account. To avoid cleaning charges you must: Take all of your belongings All drawers and closets should be completely empty. Cleaned and vacuumed/swept/mopped. Wipe down the bathroom and kitchenette. All trash must be taken out. Refrigerator must be emptied, cleaned, and dry. Remove everything from the floors, walls, ceiling, etc. Unbunk beds (if applicable) Checkout with your Resident Assistant or Resident Director (be sure to lock your bedroom door and turn in your key/s). Things to remember: UAH Housing will bag and tag any items remaining in the space. Email will be sent with a 10 days notice to collect the items. UAH Police will collect all unclaimed bikes in the summer. After you turn in your keys, you no longer have access to your room. Review the list of damage and cleaning charges here. The list is not all inclusive of items that potentially could be charged.
