OLLI at UAH Course - The Revolutionary War in the South – A Civil War?

Thursday, September 15, 2022- November 3, 2022 Multiday event - 49 days

1:15 PM 2:45 PM

Wilson Hall

Offered through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UAH

Learn how the Revolutionary War in the Carolinas and Georgia was much different than the type of battles fought elsewhere. This course will examine many battles and skirmishes where few if any British soldiers were present. Witness murder and plunder as Tories (Supporters of the Crown) and Patriots (those seeking independence) fought viciously, leading to a “civil war” in the southern colonies. The causes underlying the divisions will be examined as well as most of the well-known battles such as King’s Mountain, Cowpens, and Guilford Courthouse.

Thursday (8 sessions) | Cost: $35 | Instructor: R Anderson | Live Virtual & In-Person, UAH Campus
