This course explores this area which is so important to our wildlife and economy. Topics include the natural and human history of the Tennessee River along the refuge, the development of the TVA dams, the existing refuge with its resources, facilities, nature, wildlife, and waterfowl, the appreciation of the refuge mission, outdoor recreational opportunities, and finally the proposed Singing River Trail from Huntsville to Decatur.
