Endurance is SHC's first advanced fixed wing aircraft project. The goal is to design and fly a solar powered fixed wing UAV. We are leveraging the superior drag properties of the Prandtl-D geometry presented by NASA to accomplish the goal of extended flight. The final product will be used as a vehicle for a remote sensing payload that would benefit from the advantages it presents in comparison to other remote sensing platforms (e.g. weather balloon, satellite, chartered flight, etc.).

At the kickoff, team leads will be introducing the project, discussing its unique design and modeling challenges, and presenting ways for new team members to get involved.
