The North Alabama Section (NAS) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is pleased to welcome Mr. Ben Davis as the November 2020 NAS ASME guest speaker. Mr. Davis is an aerospace engineer at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. He is a Huntsville native and a graduate from Auburn University. Mr. Davis is currently serving as the propulsion subsystem manager for the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), which will launch geological samples from the surface of Mars for return to Earth. He also has years of experience leading multiple solid rocket motor propulsion projects within NASA, including recently serving as propulsion lead for the Orion Launch Abort System where he shepherded this system through qualification and its first in-flight operational test, which was a success.
