The 3rd annual Lean Six Sigma Conference will be held on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3 at ADTRAN East Conference Center in Research Park, Huntsville, Alabama.  The conference will attract a variety of technical and management professionals from Alabama’s manufacturing, aerospace – defense, healthcare, and other industries to gain insight, knowledge, and hands-on application of continuous improvement including the needs and impacts of cybersecurity and IoT on a company’s culture. Additional topics include new advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3-D printing will be presented.

The two-day agenda includes three keynote presentations; over twenty-five abstract presentations, numerous CEO/PM Lean Journey conversations, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification and Lean Culture assessment training, and three Industry tours. Conference participants will be able to tour Huntsville Hospital’s Sterile Processing Facility located within Research Park, Navistar’s plant within Jetplex Industrial Park, or the ULA plant in Decatur.  ULA and Navistar tours are officially registered as NIST MEP Manufacturing Day tours as part of the Lean Six Sigma Conference. 

Featured key note speakers include Karyn Ross, co-author of the Shingo-Award winning book -"The Toyota Way to Service Excellence: Lean Transformation in Service Organizations", Billy Ingram, Director of Lean Product Development for Interface, and Brad Green, CEO, Listerhill Credit Union. 

In addition, attending the conference provides an interdisciplinary opportunity for over eighty undergraduate and graduate students from UAH Colleges of Business, Engineering, and Nursing along with students from Alabama A&M University, and Calhoun Community College.  The students attending the conference will present research abstracts and posters, participate in hands-on simulations, sign up for resume reviews, network with a wide-ranging group of industry professionals, and take industry tours. 

The conference is produced and managed by UAH College of Business – Center for Management and Economic Research (CMER) - a part of the ATN Network with the UAH ISEEM Department and UAH Research Institute –Office of Operational Excellence (OOE).
