Join the Humanities Center, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and the Department of Philosophy for the ninth in a series of public lectures by Professor Bryan Van Norden, 2023 Visiting Eminent Scholar.

Professor Van Norden is a leading international scholar of Chinese philosophy. His ninth public lecture at UAH, Sex, Kung-fu, and Koans: Zen Practice, discusses the often shocking practical applications of Zen Buddhism, from the martial arts, to unconventional lifestyles, to seemingly nonsensical koans like “What is the sound of one hand clapping?”

This event is free and open to anyone.
