The course will teach the proper use of tools such as the 1950 Federal Census coupled with techniques to trace ancestors back to 1790. Special emphasis is placed on resources such as federal/state census, county court records, and agriculture recorders. Land, military, birth, and death records also help with research. It is highly recommended that each student have a personal account with Ancestry.com (fee-based) and/ or FamilySearch.org (free).
