This introductory Russian course will focus on developing a basic reading and speaking capability, centered around those activities commonly encountered while traveling: greetings, asking directions, transportation, lodging, restaurants, touring, and shopping. Students will learn the Russian alphabet, learn to use translation aids to assist in interactions with Russians, and gain a very basic understanding of Russian grammar. The course will place a strong emphasis on speaking and will also address unique aspects of Russian culture.
