During the Civil War, Chattanooga was considered the gateway to the Deep South and became an important location for Union and Confederate armies. Its strategic location, flowing river and critical rail systems led to some of the hardest-fought battles being contested there in 1863. Our campaign will start just a few miles south in Georgia at the Chickamauga National Battlefield and culminate at the scenic Lookout Mountain where the “Battle Above the Clouds” took place.

Transportation and admission are provided with the field trip fee. Masks may be required during transportation and at various museums and other destinations. Cost of meals and souvenirs not included.
