Doug Bolden will explore the history of libraries and how a constantly changing world has reshaped the fundamental concept of libraries (and continues to do so). Historical libraries will be contrasted to modern ones and possible futures of libraries will also be discussed. How important will libraries be in the era of tech giants? How has increased focus on social services and varied programming impacted libraries and librarians? How important will the book (once the core of libraries) be in the future? All these questions will be considered.
