Disjunction

Monday, January 17, 2022- February 10, 2022 Multiday event - 25 days

Wilson Hall Gallery

Room 160

Ming Ying Hong's drawings deconstruct familiar images, then reconstruct them in an unfamiliar way, creating unique, contradictory compositions. Her work pairs the masculine with feminine, the beautiful with grotesque, clumps of hair and flesh with the perfect and flawless. By bringing together these different and opposing elements in an unsettling way and removing their original context, Hong encourages the viewer to reassess ideas on the body, identity, and how we define things.

On display in the Wilson Hall Gallery now through February 10th.

Please join us for a Closing Reception and Artist's Talk on Thursday, February 10, from 4:30pm - 6:00pm.
