The holiday season is the most vulnerable time of year for businesses.  Small businesses are most at risk. In fact, one in five small-to-medium-sized businesses are victims of hacking each year. And of those, more than half go out of business within six months simply because they failed to prepare for a cyberattack.

Learn from leading government experts in the Huntsville area about how to protect your start-up or small non-cleared business from various threat risks and export violations. These in-depth discussion sessions will include how to protect your business resources and help you develop strategies to keep your company operating without interruption through the holiday season. Learn how you can qualify for free consulting by these agencies to mitigate risk for your non-cleared start-up or small business working in emerging technology and innovation. Each 45-minute session will be followed by a short Q&A for the Agents.

A representative from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS-ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Counterproliferation Investigations Unit (CPI) will focus on U.S. export laws, sanctions, embargoes, and company vulnerabilities as well as red flag indicators for risk for start-ups and small businesses.

A representative from the Office of Special Investigations National Security Detachment will focus on unique threats and common vulnerabilities to small non-cleared businesses working in emerging technologies and innovation, traditional and non-traditional threats to a company's intellectual property, and considerations for venture capitalists and mergers for start-up companies.

A representative from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Cyber squad will focus on cyber threat vulnerabilities to your small business and how your business can be better prepared for these potential risks during the holiday season.
