Speaker Bio: Michelle Proksell is a Senior UX Researcher at Grover, a startup in Berlin that rents consumer technology in Germany, Austria, Spain, The Netherlands, and the US. She has a Masters of Science in Sociology from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, where she studied the social construction of technology and focused on the socio-technological development of VR in different industries. She specializes in ethnography and cultural anthropology and has done research across Europe, Asia, and North America. She is currently helping to build and scale Grover’s UX research team and is exploring through qualitative studies the paradigm shift that drives Grover customers to move towards a sharing economy for technology consumption rather than ownership.
