Throughout the summer, Josh Couts and Friends present jazz concerts, building up the sense of community within the north Alabama jazz scene and sharing that wealth of talent among friends and colleagues, near and far. Josh writes, "While we may play some of the Tin Pan Alley “standards” of the jazz canon, our main focus will be on playing the music of the great jazz musician/composers, such as Wayne Shorter, Benny Golson, Horace Silver, Duke Pearson, Grant Green, and Thelonious Monk, as well as original music by the band members."

This week's online jazz presentation by Josh Couts and Friends features our Southeast region's own La'roy Bodiford (saxophone), along with Roger Rudolph (drums), UAH faculty members Jim Cavender (bass) and Keith Taylor (piano), and, of course, Josh Couts on guitar.
