Political Science Speaker Series will host Dr. Salil Benegal from DePauw University to speak on "The Spillover of Racial Prejudices into Climate Change in the United States."

This will be a live Zoom lecture.

ABOUT: Climate science and support for climate policies have been polarized in the United States for over two decades. While partisanship and ideology are key to understanding much of this polarization, racial identities and prejudices have become increasingly associated with climate change in recent years. This project examines the role of racial resentment in contributing to this polarization, how such prejudices interact with education to amplify policy opposition, and how this may create new barriers to action on climate change.

The event is free and open to the public.
