Saturday November 7. Noon to 2pm. Library Lawn (note: rain location, LIB111)

Learn the basics of amateur radio and network with other radio amateurs (hams). Learn about the steps to take to test for your licence, see hands on demonstrations of amatuer radio in action, and network with others. Activities will include demos of low cost handheld radios, a station working contacts for PARKS on the AIR, info on tracking and communicating through satellites, and how and where to take storm spotting classes and how to report severe weather to our local ham radio network. This will be a socially distanced event and we request everyone wear a mask! Bring your own handhelds or portable radios if you are licensed! Door prizes will include ham radio gear.

Soft drinks and desserts will be provided.
