Jason Cytacki’s paintings and installations explore the notion of the “stereotypical midwestern America” from two different viewpoints.  His paintings feature everyday mundane scenes as dimly lit nocturnes.  The visual references for these paintings are actually 3D models built by the artist.  His installations are autobiographical, recreated from his childhood home. His work is imbued with both humor and pathos, a futile recreation of a perfect past that may never have existed at all.
