Jennifer Horne is Alabama’s new Poet Laureate. She already has two poetry collections, including Bottle Tree and The Little Wanderer, as well as a book of southern fiction, Tell Them to Call You a Wildflower (UA Press). She has edited numerous books, including Working the Dirt: An Anthology of Southern Poets. Jennifer has taught children, university students, writers, and aspiring writers. Most recently, she was the Visiting Poet at Lenoir-Rhyn University.

On March 27, 2019, Jennifer will read from her latest poetry collection, Borrowed Light (Mule on a Ferris Wheel Press) in the Wilson Hall Gallery from 2 - 4 pm.

Following the reading, Jennifer will sign copies, which will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served. The art gallery is the perfect space for this reading, since Jennifer’s book deals with “borrowed light,” something artists deal with most all the time.

Please join us! The event is free and open to the public.
