In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, we are showing the documentary ¡Las Sandinistas!, which is about the role that women played in the 1979 Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua. It documents their combat activities, attempts to enact social reforms in the country during the 1980s, and ongoing struggle for gender quality and social justice in Nicaragua today. This June will be the 20th anniversary of the successful revolution.

The event will be Monday, March 4 at 6pm in Wilson Theater. It is sponsored by History, Latin American Studies, Political Science, and Women's and Gender Studies.
