The imaginations of young girls will soar as UAH hosts the ninth annual award-winning Girls' Science and Engineering Day event on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights Female 4-Way Jump Team will parachute onto the Shelby Science Center lawn on Saturday, Nov. 5 to open the 2016 Girls Science and Engineering Day. Each girl attends a schedule of four workshops, one from each (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics STEM) discipline. Lunch is included. The annual event is sponsored by the UAH Women's Leadership Council.

Madison County girls in the third through fifth grades interested in STEM subjects will take center stage as they conduct experiments and enjoy other activities such as DNA extractions, robotics and missile simulators.
