What do you like best about UAH? UAH has a very nice campus that allows for everyone to fit in. It has great resources and nice events for students and their family and friends.

What advice do you have for new engineering students? Get out and have a good time but stay focused and work at your own pace. Take advantage of your freshman and sophomore academic years so you can prepare yourself and your GPA for a successful graduation.

What do you like best about your major? It is challenging and the applications are versatile.

What kind of career are you hoping to pursue? Field work in cybersecurity or robotics.

What do you like best about UAH? I like that UAH has all of the facilities and opportunities that a large school has, but the classes and atmosphere still feel like a small school.

Do you have any co-op or internship experience? I am currently Interning at a local engineering firm called KT Engineering. I get to work on the things that I literally dreamed about when I was a kid!

What do you like best about UAH? It’s phenomenal academics, fantastic professors, the strong engineering community, and physical location right next to Cummings Research Park.

Do you have any co-op or internship experience? Will be interning at Teledyne Brown Engineering in Summer 2020.

What do you like best about UAH? UAH students are some of the most unique people you will ever meet. We come from around the world, with various national and international experience. I would never have met students like this at any other campus.

What do you like best about your major? The opportunities it has given me. I’m a sophomore and I’ve already started gaining relevant experience I can apply to my future workplace.

What do you like best about UAH? I really like that UAH is not a big university. It gives you the chance to form close friendships and feel like you're part of a community. It also means our class size is a little smaller so your professors remember you!

What do you like best about your major? The professors in my department are all awesome! They're super personable and are always willing to help when I need it.

What do you like best about your major? I like the broad scope of my major and how it applies to a countless number of careers in the Huntsville area.

What advice do you have for new engineering students? There is no shame in starting out as "engineering undecided" or changing your major early on! Every engineering major starts out in the same basic courses so there is still time to make a final decision.

Do you have any research experience? I’m currently doing research on 3-D printing metals and other new manufacturing processes.

What kind of career are you hoping to pursue? I want to get a Master’s degree with research in additive manufacturing, then go into the field designing consumer products.

Do you have any research experience? I did an REU internship in fluid dynamics the summer after Freshman year, and I did a space weather study abroad program in Germany and South Africa during the summer after my junior year.

What kind of career are you hoping to pursue? I am moving to Germany to work in the aerospace industry or something similar.

What do you like best about UAH? I love the small campus feel and the desire that the professors and engineering advisors have to see you succeed!

What do you like best about your major? I love that my professors are teaching my things that will directly correlate with the work I may be doing in industry. Mechanical engineering offers you the perfect balance between theory and practical solutions.

Virtual Advising Sessions Schedule

We invite all admitted students and their families to attend at least one virtual Academic Advising Session.  The College of Engineering Leadership and the Academic Advisors will be available to answer your questions and start getting to know you using the Zoom platform.  We will hold weekly sessions, alternating on Mondays and Thursdays each week and starting on June 1. See the schedule below.
