Educating Engineers and Scientist for the Future

Renowned rocket scientist, Dr. Wernher von Braun, was one of the pioneers for The University of Alabama in Huntsville.  He saw fit to make what was called the University of Alabama Huntsville Center into a research institute.  An institution of this caliber would not only grow the Huntsville business economy, but offer education to local employees at NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center, and Redstone Arsenal.  Soon after its founding, the campus grew tremendously, and has sustained that growth today.

UAH and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) have a unique relationship because of Dr. Wernher von Braun.  As a leader in the fields of aerospace and systems engineering; biotechnology; cybersecurity and big data; earth, atmospheric, and space science, UAH partners with the USSRC to ensure trainees can continue their education outside of their Space Camp® or Aviation Challenge® experience.
